Braided sweet bread

Zsófi

In the Easter braided bread recipe, the spelt flour contributes to a nourishing experience with its valuable nutritional content. In its natural form, spelt is high in fiber, may support healthy digestion, and may provide a longer-lasting feeling of fullness . Maple syrup or honey are natural sweeteners that also add small amounts of minerals and antioxidants to the recipe, so these healthy ingredients together offer a delicious and nourishing Easter treat.

3 1/2 cups spelt flour
1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
1 packet dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup lukewarm plant-based milk
3 eggs
1/4 cup melted butter/coconut oil

1. Step

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Prepare a loaf pan and line it with parchment paper. To prepare the dough, mix the flour, yeast, and salt in a bowl.

Beat the eggs in another bowl, then pour in the lukewarm milk mixture. Mix well.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and knead the dough together. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Add flour if necessary.

Stir in the filling: raisins or dried fruit, ground cinnamon and walnuts. (You can also make it without a filling.)

4. Step

Shape the dough into one large ball, then place it in the pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top of the loaf is golden brown. Let it cool, then slice it and enjoy the healthy Easter loaf!
