Universal granola

Zsófi

A granola made at home is not only delicious but also highly nutritious. Oats are rich in fiber, especially beta-glucan, which helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels and supports cardiovascular health. In addition, nuts and seeds contain valuable antioxidants, such as vitamin E and and zinc. The natural sweetness of homemade granola comes from honey or maple syrup, so there is no need for added sugar. Coconut oil is not only delicious but also contains medium-chain fatty acids that are quickly converted into energy. Oats also contain B vitamins that support metabolism and the maintenance of energy levels , making granola the perfect choice at any time of day.

Prep Time: 25–30 minutes
Allergens: Gluten-free and Lactose-free

Ingredients

3 cups rolled oats
1 cup nuts or seeds
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons coconut oil
A pinch of salt
1/2 cup dried fruit

Instructions

1. Step

Preheat the oven to 160°C and line a large baking tray with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, mix the rolled oats, coarsely chopped nuts or seeds, shredded coconut, cinnamon, and salt.

2. Step

In a smaller bowl, mix the melted coconut oil, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly so that all the dry ingredients are well coated with the wet mixture.

3. Step

Spread the mixture evenly over the baking tray, then bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown and crisp. Stir the granola every 10–15 minutes so it browns evenly.

Remove from the oven and let it cool completely on the tray. Once cooled, stir in the dried fruit, if using. Store in an airtight jar or container to keep it crisp for a long time.
