Gluten-free brown rice pasta - Penne

Penne derives its name from the Italian word for quill and is one of the rare pasta varieties whose origins are well documented 😊. In 1865, pasta maker Giovanni Battista Capurro created it in San Martino d’Albaro. Today, two main varieties are recognized: smooth penne lisce and ridged penne rigate. Traditionally, we recommend cooking it al dente; it is excellent for dishes with sauces (pesto, marinara, arrabbiata).
