Detailed product description

A delicious combination of tropical vegetables favored by the people of the Amazon for centuries. 100% natural Gluten-free Lactose-free No added sugar Trans fat-free Cholesterol-free Nut-free Corn-free GMO-free MSG (monosodium glutamate)-free Kosher Vegan Ingredients: Vegetables in varying proportions (cassava, malanga, purple sweet potato, yellow sweet potato, plantain) 70%, non-hydrogenated palm oil, sea salt (1.5%). SAMAI Rainforest chips are made from premium quality ingredients, grown by local farmers on the Pacific coast of South America, in Ecuador. The vegetables are naturally ripened, then hand-picked and sorted to select the best pieces. They are then transported to the processing plant, which is located directly next to the plantations, so that the raw materials remain as fresh as possible. Upon arrival at the plant, expert hands sort, peel, and slice them. They are then fried until crispy in non-hydrogenated, pure vegetable oil, preserving the natural flavor and nutrient-rich nature of the ingredients. Only sea salt is used for seasoning. It contains no added sugar, artificial flavor enhancers, flavorings, colorings, or monosodium glutamate (MSG). This guarantees completely natural flavors. The chips are packaged under strictly controlled conditions to maintain the product's freshness and excellent quality. Cassava (Manihot Esculenta), also known as manioc or yucca, is a nutrient-rich starchy root native to South America. It is consumed in many tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. Cassava root contains significant amounts of calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin C. Cassava starch is also known as tapioca. Plantain is a type of banana that is consumed boiled, steamed, or fried. Due to its high nutritional content, it is considered a staple food in many coastal areas of South America, Africa, and Asia. Only non-hydrogenated palm oil (palmolein) is used to fry the vegetables. This less saturated (more liquid) oil is extracted from the fruit of the oil palm by cooking and pressing. No chemicals are used during the process. Unlike palm kernel oil and coconut oil, palmolein contains fewer saturated components. Like all vegetable oils, palmolein is cholesterol-free and, since it does not require hydrogenation, it is also trans fat-free. It is rich in tocopherols and tocotrienols (vitamin E). Red palm oil is the best natural source of beta-carotene (provitamin A). Palmolein was selected for the preparation of SAMAI products based on the following key factors: The fatty acids in palm oil are perfectly balanced, ensuring that the oil remains stable even at high temperatures. The oil palms grow in the same region, the Ecuadorian tropics, as the other ingredients. This ensures fresh oil is used while contributing to the development of the local economy. Last but not least, the oil used comes from plantations outside of protected rainforests. The palms cover their surroundings with green canopies, allowing many plants and living organisms to thrive. With their carbon dioxide absorption, they are more effective at cleaning the air than soybean plantations.
