This magical, intensely sweet-tasting fruit belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family and grows in a tropical environment surrounded by beautiful ancient mountains. The vast majority of the local inhabitants live to be 100 years old or more. Consuming tea made from the fruit is a daily custom in the region. It has been used in China for thousands of years as a traditional folk remedy for throat sensitivity and colds, although initially, the consumption of GAC was a privilege reserved for Chinese emperors. Since 1917, it has also been used in the United States, mainly in traditional applications as a lung and meridian tonic. Today, an increasing number of scientists are researching the fruit's active ingredients and their beneficial effects on the body.
