Servings: 1 serving
Difficulty: Easy
Prep Time: 2–3 hours
Allergens: Gluten-free and Vegan

Ingredients

4 ripe bananas
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
1–2 tablespoons almond milk or another plant-based milk

Instructions

1. Step

Peel the bananas and cut them into slices. Put the banana slices on a baking-paper-lined tray and freeze them for at least 2–3 hours, or preferably overnight.

2. Step

Take the frozen banana pieces out of the freezer and put them in a powerful blender or food processor.

Blend until the bananas become smooth and creamy. This may take a few minutes, and you may need to stop occasionally to scrape down the sides.

3. Step

If desired, add the vanilla extract and almond milk. The almond milk helps make the ice cream even creamier. Continue blending until everything is well combined and smooth.

You can serve the ice cream immediately, or return it to the freezer for another 1–2 hours to make it firmer.

Serve the banana ice cream immediately, garnished to taste with fresh fruit, nuts, or a little honey.
