Clearspring malt syrups have a rich, mellow flavor and are less sweet than sugar, honey, or maple syrup. As a result, they do not overpower the flavor of other foods and can be used to sweeten hot drinks and baked goods, as well as a topping for cakes, pancakes, and desserts.
Barley malt syrup has a deep, rich, complex flavor similar to molasses and is stickier than rice malt syrup, making it an excellent binding agent, ideal for making granola bars and popcorn clusters.
Note: When using malt syrup instead of sugar for baking, it should be added to the liquid ingredients in the recipe rather than the dry ingredients, such as flour. The amount of dry ingredients should also be adjusted to prevent the dough or batter from becoming too wet.
