Extraction method: Steam distillation from Atlas cedar bark.
Botanical background: Pine family
The Atlas cedar is an evergreen conifer with a grayish-green color. Its massive trunk can reach a height of up to 40 meters, and it can live for as long as 2,000 years.
History: A sacred tree originating in the Middle East and North Africa, it currently adorns the Lebanese flag. In ancient Egypt, it was used for the medicinal treatment of pharaohs and for cosmetic purposes, and it was part of the embalming ritual.
Aromatherapy use idea: Mixed with lavender, orange, or other citrus oils, it creates a calming environment.
For an anti-cellulite effect: 2 ml cedar essential oil, 2 ml lemon peel essential oil, and 100 ml vegetable oil (hazelnut oil recommended).
Precautions for use:
Flammable. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with the eyes. Not recommended for use by children under 3 years of age, pregnant women, or breastfeeding women. It is safer to avoid applying cosmetics containing essential oils to the skin before sunbathing or using a tanning bed. Do not use undiluted on the skin. Essential oils are recommended for external use only.
