Detailed product description
Origanum compactum: 100% pure and natural
Main constituents: carvacrol, thymol, gamma-terpinene, para-cymene.
Possible allergenic components: limonene, linalool.
Plant origin: Morocco
Extraction method: By steam distillation of the flowering shoots of oregano.
Botanical background: also known as oregano. An aromatic-smelling, semi-shrub-like perennial plant that can reach 30–80 cm in height. Its stem is richly branched and quadrangular; its opposite leaves are ovate and hairy.
History: Its medicinal properties were already known in ancient Egypt, where it was well known as a cough suppressant, and in ancient Greece it was used to heal injuries. In the Middle Ages, food was protected from microbial infections with oregano oil.
Aromatherapy use idea: Disinfects rooms.
For treating skin infections: 2 drops of oregano essential oil and 8 drops of vegetable oil (e.g. borage oil).
Precautions for use:
Flammable. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with the eyes. Use of the product is not recommended for children under 3 years of age or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is safer to avoid applying cosmetics containing essential oils to the skin before sunbathing or using a tanning bed. Do not use undiluted on the skin. Essential oils are recommended for external use only.
