Eugenia caryophyllus: 100% pure and natural
Main constituents: eugenol, eugenyl acetate.
Possible allergenic components: eugenol, isoeugenol.
Plant origin: Madagascar
Extraction method: By steam distillation of the flower buds of the clove tree.
Botanical background: The leaves of this 15–20-meter-tall, warmth- and water-loving member of the myrtle family are lanceolate and evergreen. Its pale purple-pink flowers bloom at the tips of the shoots, and the spice is made from the reddish flower buds.
History: Until the 18th century, the clove tree grew only in its native Indonesia, specifically in the Maluku Islands. It was formerly one of the most valuable plants, with a value approaching that of gold.
Aromatherapy use idea: for disinfecting rooms and treating depression.
For fungal infections: 4 drops of clove essential oil and 20 drops of vegetable oil (e.g. hazelnut oil).
Precautions for use:
Flammable. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with the product's contents with the eyes. Use of the product is not recommended for children under 3, or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is safer to avoid applying cosmetics containing essential oils to the skin before sunbathing or using a tanning bed. Do not use undiluted on the skin. Essential oils are recommended for external use only.
