Detailed product description
A medicinal herb with versatile effects, used as a base for herbal tea
Rock rose (Cistus incanus), which is widespread in many Mediterranean regions, has been used in folk medicine for centuries in Italy, Spain, Greece, and Turkey.
It has most commonly been used to treat fever, diarrhea, various skin diseases, ulcers (e.g., stomach ulcers), and rheumatism, as well as an anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic agent.
This versatile medicinal herb is used, among other things, for its anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial effects, as well as for treating fever, respiratory conditions, and colds. It was based on folk observations that the plant came to the attention of scientific research. Laboratory experiments have shown that its extract inhibits the reproduction of the influenza virus. In subsequent experiments on rodents in 2009, it was observed that in mice infected with avian influenza (H1N1), it protected the infected animals from clinical symptoms. Based on the results, it proved most effective in preventing and stopping the infection. In a human clinical trial, lozenges containing rock rose extract significantly reduced influenza symptoms. The results to date suggest that rock rose can be a useful medicinal herb for us in the prevention and symptomatic treatment of influenza.
Its consumption is not risky. Throughout centuries of use, no allergies or unpleasant side effects have been reported.
Tea preparation: Add 3g of the herb to 250ml of hot water. Let it cool down at room temperature.
Recommended consumption: one cup, several times a day.
