Detailed product description
Walnut leaf - Juglandis folium
Walnut leaf has a bitter, mucous membrane-astringent, and toning effect. Walnut leaf tea can be effective in treating stomach and intestinal disorders, beneficial for both diarrhea and constipation.
It generally regulates abnormal stomach and intestinal function, and if one's stomach is upset and appetite is lost, walnut leaf tea acts as an appetite stimulant, strengthening and conditioning the stomach.
Walnut leaf has a strong astringent effect, which is why it is mainly used externally as an ingredient in baths and compresses for treating stubborn skin conditions (eczema, acne), though it is also used internally as an adjunctive therapy.
Preparation: pour one cup (2.5 dl) of boiling water over one teaspoon of dried walnut leaves, then cover and let it steep for 5 minutes. It can be consumed as a 2-3 cup daily course of treatment. It is best to drink before meals, but those whose stomachs are sensitive to its high tannin content should consume it between meals.
