Gelatin is the most widely used gelling agent due to its versatility. It can be used, among other things, for making gummy candies, pudding, aspic, desserts (e.g., panna cotta), and for thickening soups and sauces. Typically, 6 grams of gelatin is recommended for half a portion of cream, while 9 grams results in a firm, sliceable texture.
