Detailed product description
Willow Bark - Salicis cortex
Before Aspirin existed, the active ingredient in willow bark was used to reduce fever and treat headaches and rheumatic pain.
Its decoction is consumed to treat internal bleeding, enteritis, rheumatism, joint ailments, gastritis, cystitis, and fever. Medicine also acknowledges the efficacy of willow bark for febrile illnesses, headaches, and rheumatic complaints.
It inhibits blood clot formation, therefore its consumption can help prevent thrombosis.
Externally, it is used to treat frostbitten body parts and hemorrhoids, but it is also frequently used for foot perspiration, eczema, weeping wounds, and chronic skin diseases. In these cases, its decoction can be used as a wash or in a bath.
Preparation: add two teaspoons of willow bark to 2 dl of boiling water. Boil for 4-5 minutes from the point of boiling, then strain immediately. You may sweeten to taste.
