Contains the amino acid N-acetyl cysteine. Cysteine is one of the 20 amino acids that are the building blocks of proteins used in the body. Proteins form the structure of all cells and tissues in the body, including muscle tissue, internal organs, tendons, hair, skin, and nails. N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a form of the amino acid cysteine, which is also used to support respiratory and immune system health. Cysteine is a non-essential amino acid that the body can also produce naturally.
For NAC, the effective and therapeutic dose for its mucolytic effect is 0.4–0.6 g/day. Side effects of NAC-containing preparations may include, among others, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. NAC-containing preparations may interact with certain medications to induce further side effects (e.g., it enhances the vasodilatory effect of nitroglycerin-containing preparations, and taking it with antihypertensive drugs may result in blood pressure that is too low). If you are undergoing medical treatment, consult your physician before taking this product.
Active ingredient/1 capsule:
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) 600mg
Ingredients: N-Acetyl Cysteine, rice flour, capsule shell (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), anti-caking agents (magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide).
Dosage: It is recommended to take 1 capsule daily with a meal.
