Beeswax is an excellent cosmetic ingredient. It is one of nature's great wonders, as it is just as suitable for use in cosmetics as it is versatile in its other applications. It is regenerative, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, soothing, promotes wound healing, is antiallergenic, and that is not all. It has an extremely high vitamin A content. It does not absorb into the skin; instead, it forms an invisible protective layer that allows our skin to breathe. It can be a great help in the fight against weather-related skin problems and provides excellent protection against dehydration. White beeswax pastilles do not discolor the cosmetics being prepared.
Suggested use: Making beeswax lip balm, not just for winter.
When you have a cold, you would give anything to be able to breathe through your nose again. Beeswax can help with this, too. Make a chest rub or nasal ointment to ease breathing for yourself or your loved ones.
You can also make an anti-aging cream, which can be safely used as a preventative measure from your mid-twenties. Especially when it is made from such natural ingredients.
Furthermore, it can be used in body care products, soaps, for repairs around the house, as candles, or we can make beeswax food wraps, which are not only environmentally friendly but can also extend the shelf life of our food due to their antibacterial properties.
Recommended dosage: In emulsions typically 1-10%, in lip balms 25-35%
