Restharrow root - Ononis spinosa

An excellent diuretic. Helps in combating high blood pressure. It is recommended for the consumption in cases of gallbladder disease and gallstones. It enhances glandular function.

Restharrow root tea is an excellent remedy for cystitis. It is most often combined with field horsetail for the treatment of kidney stone conditions.

It has beneficial effects in cases of inflammation and bacterial infections. It also acts on the adrenal cortex. It is also beneficial for urinary tract infections and inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract.

Preparation: Pour 2.5 dl of boiling water over 2 teaspoons of chopped restharrow root. Leave to steep covered for at least 30 minutes, then strain. Drink a maximum of 2 cups daily for 5-6 days, then take a one-week break.

Contraindicated: for heart patients and during pregnancy.
