Detailed product description
Calamus root - Calami rhizoma et radix
Calamus root is an excellent medicinal herb with appetite-stimulating, nerve-strengthening, blood-purifying, and stomach-strengthening effects. It is a common ingredient in digestive and carminative tea blends. Due to its antispasmodic effect, it is beneficial for intestinal cramps.
Externally, it can be used to alleviate rheumatic complaints as a poultice or added to ointments.
Preparation: Calamus root tea is made by soaking in cold water. Soak one level teaspoon of calamus root in 2.5 dl of water for 6-8 hours. It is best to soak it overnight and strain it the next day. The liquid should only be warmed, but preferably not in a microwave oven. It should not be sweetened. It can be consumed in 1-2 cups daily, half an hour before meals.
Attention! Consumption in large doses and regular use is contraindicated. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
