Detailed product description
An exotic spice with numerous beneficial physiological effects. Turmeric, a member of the ginger family, has been used in Indian traditional medicine and gastronomy for millennia. This is no coincidence, as in addition to its vibrant yellow color and unique aroma, it is characterized by strong antioxidant, digestive-stimulant, blood sugar-stabilizing, and anti-inflammatory effects. It is also an effective remedy for inflammatory processes affecting the joints. This distinctive bright yellow spice is obtained from the roots and stems of the perennial plant called Curcuma longa, which are dried and ground into a powder. It is one of Asia's most well-known spices, particularly favored in India. You can confidently mix a pinch of turmeric into most vegetable dishes and soups. It beautifully colors rice and makes it delicious. It gives meats, soups, and vegetable dishes a piquant, exotic Eastern flavor, but use it sparingly, as its characteristic slightly tart, bitter taste, reminiscent of ginger, can become monotonous. Turmeric is an important spice in Worcestershire sauce, and curry is also a delicious source of curcumin. Studies have determined that its active ingredient, curcumin—which also provides its bright yellow color—has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It lowers blood sugar levels and alleviates inflammatory processes that occur during diabetes. It inhibits inflammatory factors that play a role in cardiovascular diseases. In the case of inflammatory bowel diseases, curcumin may lead to improvement and reduce the number of relapses. It is well-suited for the treatment of arthritis. Curcumin is fat-soluble, so consume it with fatty foods! Black pepper extract, piperine, greatly helps its absorption.
