Detailed product description
Coltsfoot leaf-Farfarae folium
Its infusion is used for catarrhal diseases of the respiratory system due to its antitussive, mucolytic, and expectorant effects. Externally, it is used as a compress for inflammations and skin ulcers.
Preparation: Pour 2 dl of boiling water over half a teaspoon of coltsfoot leaf, then strain after fifteen minutes.
Warning: Use on its own is not advisable, as its alkaloid content can be hepatotoxic and even carcinogenic. Use only in small quantities, and avoid consumption during pregnancy and breastfeeding! Due to its pyrrolizidine alkaloid content, please consult your doctor! Use coltsfoot leaves purchased from a specialist shop for medicinal purposes.
