Detailed product description

Mung beans are small, green legumes originating from South Asia and have been known for thousands of years. They have a slightly sweet taste, so they can be eaten both sweet and savory. Thanks to their versatility, they can be used in many ways. In India, China, and Indonesia, they are often used to make noodles, soup, and even desserts.

This type of bean is still relatively unknown in our country, but it is worth incorporating into our diet, not only because it makes it more varied, but also because mung beans are packed with beneficial nutrients.

Significance and effects: The energy content of mung beans is similar to that of other legumes; their protein content is higher than that of dried beans but considerably lower than that of soybeans. Their fiber content is exceptionally high, which aids digestion and nourishes beneficial bacteria living in the gut. In addition, it increases the feeling of fullness.

They contain several substances with antioxidant effects that support the immune system. They contain numerous vitamins, including B vitamins, as well as important minerals.

Uses: It is very easy to prepare. If you would like to eat them cooked, pour them into boiling water and cook for approximately 45 minutes. They are rarely eaten on their own, but are more often used as part of salads, sauces, soups, and one-pot dishes. Their flavor is not very pronounced, so they can be combined and seasoned in many different ways.

Also suitable for thickening.
