Mullein flower - Verbasci flos

Its decoction can be used to suppress coughs in cases of bronchitis and illnesses accompanied by coughing.

Externally, it can be used for treating wounds, ulcers, and hemorrhoids. Mullein has long been used in folk medicine, primarily for cough suppression and fever reduction. The plant's active ingredients coat the damaged mucous membrane, protecting it from further irritation and promoting faster regeneration. It is also effective for sore throats and inflammation of the oral mucosa. Due to its astringent effect, it relieves diarrhea. Externally, it helps with hemorrhoids when used as a sitz bath. It can be used as a wash or compress for boils and ulcerated wounds.

Preparation: Pour 2 dl of boiling water over approx. 1 tablespoon of dried herb, then cover and let it stand for 10-15 minutes. Strain and drink 3 cups daily.
