Shepherd's purse - Bursae pastoris herba

The main property of shepherd's purse is its styptic (hemostatic) effect, therefore it helps to normalize bleeding in case of heavy menstrual bleeding. It is recommended as an adjunct therapy for internal bleeding (uterine, gastric, intestinal).

In folk medicine, it is used to normalize high and low blood pressure and to wash bleeding wounds.

It is also known for its anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties, which it owes to its high potassium content.

Preparation: Pour 2.5 dl of boiling water over 2 teaspoons of dried shepherd's purse, let it steep for fifteen minutes, then strain. During the menstrual cycle, it is recommended to consume 2 cups of tea daily.
