Detailed product description
These purple sheets, known in Japanese as “hoshi nori”, need to be toasted briefly: unfold the sheet and hold it over a gas flame or electric burner until it begins to turn green. It is an ideal snack or for wrapping rice or sushi rolls. When torn into thin strips or cut with scissors, nori makes a delicious garnish for grain, noodle, and vegetable dishes, as well as soups and salads. Like many other foods, nori is available in different qualities. Lower-quality versions are dull, purplish-black in color, and lack the vibrant sheen of Clearspring Japanese nori, whose fine, even texture and translucent, deep green color attest to its superior quality.
