Mixed with honey, propolis is nature’s antibiotic. Before trying any propolis preparation, make sure you are not allergic to it!
Bees use propolis as a sealing and adhesive material in the hive. Its base is a plant-derived balsam made from the sticky secretion of buds. Its components include flavonoids, essential oils, chalcones, dihydrochalcones, catechins, vitamins B1, B2, B6, C, and E, amino acids, tannins, pigments, and minerals.
Processed propolis has antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal effects and protects injuries from infections.
It has a positive effect on resistance, the regeneration of soft tissues, bones, and cartilage, increases the elasticity of blood vessels, helps promote hair and nail growth, has bile-stimulating and mild diuretic effects, relieves pain, inhibits tumor formation, and is also suitable for treating ulcers.
