Detailed product description
SFE Bio Sweet Wormwood rubbed leaves 50 g
Consuming rubbed sweet wormwood tea leaves is a great addition to a health-conscious diet. Numerous credible scientific studies support the positive physiological effects of sweet wormwood.
Therapeutic treatments using Artemisia annua have a long tradition for various ailments, possessing antibacterial, antioxidant, and antiviral properties. Regarding the latter, however, practically all reports dealing with the toxic effects of Artemisia annua extract have used traditional maceration methods. In this study, an innovative extraction process from Artemisia annua, based on pressurized cyclic solid-liquid (PCSL) extraction, resulted in a new phytocomplex with enhanced anticancer properties. This extraction process generated a pressure gradient due to compressions and subsequent decompressions, allowing for direct extraction without maceration. The toxic effects of the Artemisia annua PCSL extract were tested on various cells, including three cancer cell lines. The results of this study clearly show that exposure of human, mouse, and dog cancer cells to serial dilutions of the PCSL extract resulted in greater toxicity and a stronger tendency to induce apoptosis than exposure of the same cells to Artemisia extracts obtained by canonical maceration. The collected data suggest that the PCSL extract of A. annua could be a promising and economical new therapeutic tool for the treatment of human and animal tumors.
