Detailed product description
Clearspring organic brown sushi rice is ideal for creating delicious, perfectly cooked rice that can be used to make healthy and tasty dishes, including sushi. We thought long and hard about whether to add it to our range, as it takes significantly longer to cook than organic white sushi rice, but considering its wonderful flavour and the addition of whole grains, it is worth it!
The characteristics of the short-grain Selenio rice variety used for our organic brown sushi rice are very similar to the Japonica rice used for making sushi in Japan. This variety is grown organically in the Piedmont region of north-west Italy, an area also famous for its risotto rice cultivation.
After maturing, the rice is hulled at a rice processing plant in the nearby town of Trino.
