Oregano - Origani vulgaris herba

Like marjoram, oregano can be used as a spice for soups and roasts.

As a medicinal herb, it can be used as a cough suppressant, and for cases of sore throat or laryngitis.

It has a mild laxative effect, so it can be consumed on its own or in tea blends for constipation.

It can be used both internally and externally for rheumatic and joint inflammation.

Its hormone-regulating effect may help with menopausal symptoms, menstrual problems, and thyroid diseases.

Preparation: Pour 2.5 dl of boiling water over 1 level tablespoon of the herb tea and let it steep for 10 minutes. Strain and consume 1-2 cups daily. Do not use for children under 3 years of age, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding!
