Detailed product description
The Japanese word "tamari" derives from the word "tamaru", meaning to accumulate. Originally, it referred to the liquid collected from whole soybeans during the production of miso (a soft, salty paste used to season food). The main difference between tamari and shoyu is that tamari does not contain wheat. Tamari is an excellent salt substitute and seasoning.
Today, it is produced using modern technology as follows: the soybeans are heat-treated, crushed and mixed, then inoculated with fermentation cultures while salt and water are added. The product is aged in tanks for 6 months before being drained, pasteurized and packaged.
Ingredients: soybeans* (46.5%), water, salt
*= From controlled organic farming
Use: ideal for seasoning salads, soups, sauces, pasta and vegetables.
