Detailed product description
Oak bark-Quercus cortex
Due to its tannin content, oak bark is an excellent astringent; its decoction is used in baths and compresses to treat weeping skin conditions, sweaty feet, hemorrhoids, and inflammation of the oral cavity.
In cases of diarrhea and gastroenteritis, it is rarely used internally on its own, but rather in herbal tea blends. The leaves of the tree are used for similar purposes, although they contain slightly fewer active ingredients.
Preparation: Always prepare it by boiling. Bring 3 dl of water to a boil, and when it starts to simmer, add a teaspoon of oak bark. (If it is not crushed, grind it, grate it, or cut it into small pieces.) Boil for 3-4 minutes, then remove from heat and let it stand for at least 5-10 minutes before straining. You can drink up to 2 mugs a day, consuming it in small sips.
It is more effective if you add silverweed, walnut leaves, and yellow dock. Use one level teaspoon of each per cup.
