Detailed product description
The most important active ingredient in lungwort (or pulmonaria) is a compound called allantoin. In addition to allantoin, the plant also contains various flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin), silicic acid derivatives, alkaloids, and tannins. Among the alkaloids, pyrrolizidine is present in the plant. The leaves and flowering shoots of the plant are very rich in mucilage and vitamin C. An important property of lungwort leaf is that it contains a relatively high amount (10-15%) of mineral substances.
